Your Experience by Discipline

Behavioral Health

(LMFT, LCSW, LPC)

Our Behavioral Health Learning Lab helps you build the skills, confidence, and clinical judgment to grow into your role as a therapist serving children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Through supervised, hands-on learning, you’ll practice:

  • Building trusting therapeutic relationships with clients across the lifespan.
  • Planning and leading sessions with clear treatment goals.
  • Developing case conceptualization skills to connect client history, symptoms, strengths, and needs.
  • Applying trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate interventions.
  • Helping clients strengthen emotional regulation, coping, and communication skills.
  • Understanding how family dynamics and relationships influence mental health.
  • Involving caregivers and support systems when clinically appropriate.
  • Adapting treatment to each client’s needs and progress.
  • Writing clear clinical documentation and developing professional habits.

Consistent supervision and constructive feedback give you space to ask questions, reflect on your work, and strengthen your skills. Your responsibilities grow with your readiness, within your academic requirements, and scope of training.
